You have taken two fragments Trump has said and concluded that is his root intention. This is disingenuous at worst, and lazy on your part at best.

Quote 1: Trump, during Hannity interview: "[Hannity] says, 'You’re not going to be a dictator, are you?' I said: 'No, no, no. Other than Day One.' We’re closing the border, and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator." You should know that Trump's style is Executive Order. He's not going to roll out military tanks and use them against his own population. He's going to sign 10 or 15 executive orders on day 1, then go back to business as usual on day 2. There is a HUGE difference between what Trump said, and looking at his past behavior, versus a Maduro or Putin style dictatorship.

Quote 2. Trump spoke specifically to Evangelicals who have a history of not voting: “They don’t vote like they should. They’re not big voters.” He was courting these specific voters for a one-time push, so he could win. Yes, he did say, “Christians, get out and vote. Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore, you know what? Four more years, it’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine, you won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians.” Which opens Trump to all kinds of attacks that I would agree with. But even Reuters in their analysis, said, "It was not clear what the former president meant by his remarks." Reuters did not issue a 4-alarm fire drill about our nation is being threatened. So there is ambiguity.
