I dated a woman with HSV-2, and she told me before we started the first time. I said I'd always wear a condom, wouldn't go down on her, and she said okay. In retrospect I probably could have used a dental dam. Anyway I never caught it from her, and we stayed friends. She'd tell me a few guys getting all tripped up about it, and didn't want to sleep with her after learning about it. She has been asymptomatic for years now, and other than the few guys getting freaked out, she leads a normal life.
