With respect, when did this infrastructure ever exist for most Americans? I didn't work during the 1950s and 1960s, but my grandparents did. It was VERY difficult for working-class people to find any opportunity at all. My grandfather was an undereducated factory worker, grandmother a stay at home mom. There was NO chance they could have turned into a Mad Men success story.

I'm just not so sure the good old days were really that good.
