Thank you.
Honestly, I think the #1 thing we have to address is Earth's climate. Doesn't matter how equal people are, if we're living on a cinder. I'm not talking about "tax credits" and other BS measures proposed in Build Back Better. I'm talking research, development, building green infrastructure. A massive effort not seen since World War II. Money can be raised for it by penalizing fossil fuel companies (particularly coal and oil), incentivizing them to make their fuel burning cleaner, and hitting legacy companies that were major contributors (GE dumping toxic sludge into the Hudson river).
As for equality, I'm a fan of Universal Basic Income. $1,000/mo for every citizen = $4.4 Trillion per year. So we gotta find a way to get to that. Again, the well to do should contribute most toward it which means higher taxes - corporate and personal. Cut spending elsewhere - government is wasteful, and some social services will no longer be needed. Beyond that, I don't care how rich somebody gets, as long as peoples' basic needs are taken care of.
So that's my stance. I still don’t know how the books can be balanced. I am not a fan of outrageous deficits. But this is a goal we can all work towards.
