Khomenei has been in power as Supreme Leader since 1979... to me this equals "nothing to do with Democracy."

I don't care who is President, they are powerless as long as they have an arch-conservative judiciary and again the concept of a Supreme Leader.

I don't know what happened to Iran in 1950. Not going to justify everything the US Government did in the mid 20th century. But this does not change that Iran today is religiously misguided and marginalizing them into irrelevance is the best thing that can be done for the world.
