JBP is an academic, and so yes his explanations are going to be overly verbose - he has spent 20 some years lecturing in classrooms. i would believe that his intent is to explaing the underlying or root signficance of any topic, as he has spent his adult (and maybe child) life working hard to reach somewhat of an understanding - and he is trying to share that.

I am on the other hand and NOT an academic and so while I think Jordan Peterson has had some great topics, particularly around personal development, I do have to be in the mood to sit with so many words and for a longer-ish time.
