In my experience...yes it really IS that hard for most men to listen to their wives or girlfriends when she talks about her feelings. Or, it was for me. Because I thought if my girlfriend came to me with a problem, she wanted me to fix it. Fix the window. Take out that dead mouse. Give her advice on what she should say to her bestie or mother. It's all the same.

Even now, and women tell me I've turned into a great listener... I have to shift gears. I go into engineer mode, or I go into silent supportive mode.
