I'm sorry, did you say that Venezuela is not Socialist? Venezuela, monopolized by the United Socialist Party, where Nicholas Maduro lives well while his proletariat citizens who placed Chavez in power are starving on the streets. Where top businesses and industries were nationalized. Where the greatest skyscraper of Caracas was seized by the government for low income housing, until it was condemned as unsafe due to lack of maintenance, and every tenant inside was evicted. Where Leopaldo Lopez has been tortured and isolated for years, for peacefully protesting socialist rule:

I similarly cannot believe you are defending the USSR. Stalin killed 20 million of his own people. He instituted mass starvation through his central farming edict. 1 out of 3 citizens were government informants. Psychopathic wardens were placed in Gulag camps to creatively torture political prisoners, such as WWII returning soldiers, out of fear they would sow seeds of dissension because they had seen the West.

Also, Cuba. They rank 102 out of 167 scored countries on the Prosperity Index. They score extremely low on personal freedom, very low on personal safety, and low on climate/environment. Freedom = happiness. How is this socialist nation a world leading success?

I have plenty of my own complaints about US inflation, climate disregard, and even inequality. But we are not in "our third major economic crisis in under 30 years." We've had exactly one real recession in 30 years. Compare our situation with Argentina or Turkey. Wage inflation today is going through the roof. People are quitting their jobs because they can. Our government has been giving away money to parents for free, through end of last year. Again, compare this with the socialist nation of Venezuela, where some 67% of citizens are underfed.
