I would really like to believe you; in fact one of my closest and successful female friends has said things like, "I just want to find a kindergarten teacher." In other words, he doesn't need to out-earn her.
And yet when she meets such a man, it's "He's not very smart...I need someone to challenge me."
I believe I am a spitting image of that guy you describe. Every single descriptor. And while I'm not sexually frustrated, I do find nearly every woman I meet keeps asking the same first two questions: "What do you do, where do you live?" and the feeling of it being an interview escalates from there.
