I think our government (and I might be giving them too much credit, but...) is smart enough to not ban Bitcoin outright like China did.

But what they can do, is create a regulatory market so hostile, that Bitcoin cannot grow.

Now, I do believe the Bitcoin community is doing a noble job trying to lobby regulators. But it's not enough.

Gary Gensler turned from a pro-Bitcoin force to neutral-at-best. Elizabeth Warren is, well, stupid, but she gets headlines. Janet Yellen is certainly anti-crypto. Other Biden nominees, and I forget their names, have been virulently anti-crypto.

We need more Cynthia Lummis's. We need more Ritchie Torres's. We need more Jim Himes's who is taking a pragmatic approach toward crypto.

I personally think crypto is as progressive a cause as green energy - or the Internet. Democrats got the jump on the Internet, 7-8 years before Republicans, and enjoyed a huge fundraising advantage in 2006, 2008 because of it. If crypto is owned by Republicans, then a lot of fence-sitters, even center-left types, even San Francisco types, will consider opening their PayPal accounts to GOP candidates. Just look at how much a star Cynthia Lummis was in Miami. I just think it would be a huge mistake on the part of Dems.
