I find things in here that I can agree with.

But I also want to comment on a few items:

- large apartment buildings have almost always been heavy private equity driven. Except for people rich enough to own the buildings outright.

- I think somebody else mentioned this, but Zillow ate a big fat loss.

- Residential rental real estate has been around for several decades at least. It by itself is not evil. It has long been a way for mom-and-pop workers to slowly accumulate a comfortable retirement. (Because pensions are dead). Note this is different from the stale bleaching of taste and wrecking of community, that comes with corporate rental housing.

I have one additional suggestion: increase short term interest rates to above 8%. this will drastically drive house prices DOWN, increase tax deductions for homeowners, and I would venture, chase corporate interests out of the residential landsharking business.
