I don’t know, it seems every time Democrats have a supermajority they drive themselves into a ditch. And I’m not even talking about 2021. But 2008–60 senators. What did they do with it? Passed a stripped down version of Obamacare. There is so much more they could have done.

Same with 1993 and Bill Clinton, and (before my time but) 1977 with Carter.

In each case, not only did they get little accomplished, but they gave Republicans enough ammunition to mount a huge comebck in the midterms.
