I don't do bad faith arguments. You can't switch from a global post, to a USA-only comment, without explicitly claiming so, then claim bad faith when I call that out.

After reading your linked article, I assume you mean that govt's should have neither wealth nor power....not that govt's should have limits on neither wealth nor power.

I am glad to have read what you wrote there, because so many anti-capitalists want an all-authoritative government state - with themselves in power. Very glad, and hopeful, you are not of that breed.

We can discuss who the power is behind the power. I personally think it is one of the better discussions to be had. Likely, we won't know in most cases. Yes, the US Government kisses the asses of big tech, big oil, and big finance (although I don't think JPMChase or Wells Fargo have all that much influence..it's the names you haven't heard of). Some still accuse Dick Cheney of being this power hungry tyrant that in 2022 wants to control the world - which is ridiculous. I've heard stories of Obama threatening some very prominent CEOs. I can promise you when Jeff Bezos visited Saudi Arabia, he kissed the royal family's asses. When Jeff Bezos visited China, he kissed Xi Jingpeng's ass. When ANYBODY visits the Pope...

Saudi family owning the biggest banana republic shell company in the world, I can get on board with that. China, I'm not so sure - Industry and billionaires bow to the government not the other way around. I think Xi is more influenced by Mao than Bill Gates. I would hardly call Justin Trudeau a corporatist, although if you want to make a case about Klaus Schwab living down to your corporist distopia standard, I might agree with it.

Again, who is the power behind the power. IMHO, It's rarely those in the public spotlight.
