I also "retired" early, just recently at age 50. Got laid off from my job, was extremely burned out, and felt like traveling a lot more than dreading finding another job.

I relate with a lot of what you say in this. One of my investments crashed to near $0, and that was stressful as I'd already passed the point of no return. Other than that, my journey is (relatively) stable.

My biggest lifestyle change is that I now live on a very low budget. Some months under $1000. Moved out of NYC, stopped drinking. I buy good food (organic ground beef etc.), but everything else is on the cheap.

No owned house. I'm full digital nomad. There are nice yet cheap places to live all over. I've been rather lucky that way. BTW there are services that will furnish an empty house on a month-to-month basis.

I'm actually kind of bored, so I'm using my time to learn a whole new trade.

I guess my only "advice" to anyone considering early retirement is don't burn bridges. It's always good to have options.

I do wish you luck. Especially with your house. Again my one investment stress affected me a lot.
