I agree, there isn't appetite for open war, and even if there was to be a secession, most states are too combined to agree where they would go. Texas is rapidly going blue, North Carolina is evenly split 50/50, as is Arizona and Georgia and Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

I think instead the entire United States would weaken and we would be economically taken over by China, or technology hacked by Russia.
