Having known a bunch of these tattooed, motorcycle riding guys, some of which came around to become responsible and some who didn't, I think each one who did, had a real "oh shit I gotta stop fucking up" moment that changed things.

Maybe it's the threat of jail, maybe it's almost dying, or maybe it's just a verbal beatdown from a male friend they respect.
