Congress being locked in corruption comes down to two factors: Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi (really the top 3 of the Dem house - Hoyer and Clyburn are just as complacent / ineffective).

The #1 thing the Democratic Party needs to do is stop treating top leadership positions as lifetime tenure jobs. Which is why the Top 3 in the House have been Top 3 of the Dem party for 15 years. Which is why Biden got the nomination. Which is why Randi Weingarten is still head of the Teachers Union. No Democratic "leaders" are doing anything other than ensuring they stay in power. And they're ensuring they stay in power, by knocking off any would-be challengers. So the Dem party has no bench, that can take the reigns from here. Which means, turn to Pelosi some more.
