#2, Doug Jones was lucky. Like Moses parting the Red Sea lucky. No way he should have even won a partial term in Alabama. Roy Moore turned out to be a damaged candidate in the making of Todd Akin. 98% of Republican candidates win that seat. Can't expect Doug Moore's to take over Mississippi, Kansas, or Arkansas.
#3, I am not sure what your strategy is here. Trump is VERY popular among his base, to the point where his party still does not call him out (except for Liz Cheney whose goose is cooked). Even Ben Sasse, the original Never Trumper, shuts up about Trump now. Trump scores weak with moderate, suburban housewives.
